While riding in my daughter's car I tried to get the window to come down. It was a beautiful sunny day in Rancho Cucamonga and I wanted to experience the fresh air. I turned to push the button that controls the window, imagine my surprise when there wasn't one!! Snickering, my daughter Lissa informed me that she has old school windows! I honestly forgot that there were cars like this! It is so easy to get into the mindset that everyone has what I have. The truth is I have more than most of the world!
A few statistics for you
If your family income is $10,000 a year, you are wealthier than 84 percent of the world. If it's $50,000 or more a year, you make more than 99 percent of the world.
If you have one of these things you have been blessed
a car
a phone
an income
clean water
freedom to worship
buttons that control things
more than 1 pair of shoes
a warm house
extra money
electricity
medicine
food
There is a web site the rich list where you can discover how rich you are compared to the rest of the world. A rather humbling experience it was for me! I am embarrassed to tell you where we ranked!
Blessings come in many forms, wealth is one way but God blesses us with His precious Holy Spirit, Forgiveness, joy, peace and hope. We are wealthy my friends, wealthy indeed!
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Ephesians 1:3-10
A good and very timely reminder. Thanks Jann.
