Happy Birthday Jeni Cobb

Happy Birthday!

I am blessed to call you my daughter and my friend.
Thinking through your 27 years, I have memories of some energetic soccer games, eating chicken Mcnuggets with extra sauce, princess stories with princess Jeni and mounds and mounds of pink!

The first time we drove into Mexico, I was struck by your ability to see past the poverty when you you said, "they don't have chimneys!"  All throughout your life I have been stretched by your desire to help those who are in need. Your compassion is one of your great strengths.

I pray that you would know more deeply and intimately,
God's great and unending love for you.

On this day may you know the power of becoming conformed
into the likeness of Christ!

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2

She made me feel Special!

Have you ever had a person in your life that always made you feel loved?

Someone who did things that no one else did?

They remembered your birthday, favorite flavor of birthday cake and had it decorated in whatever theme was your new trend?

Growing up we could always count on Aunt Margaret to make our birthdays special. When money was tough and there weren’t any presents, knowing that she would have something just for me was a great comfort.

Her example in providing for others has had a lasting imprint on my life.

The memory of her loving actions reminds me of a verse in Hebrews

Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise—the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.  And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased. Hebrews 13:15-16

I want to offer a sacrifice of praise and share with others too.
Father, direct me to whoever you want me to do good things for. Show me what to share and how to do it. May these things be pleasing to you.
