Pinterest Broom

This picture of a cleaning broom was found on Pinterest. Amazing discovery don't you agree? Why didn't I think of this earlier?  I wonder if it will work on ceiling fans? I hate it when I start to clean them and down falls all of that built up lint and dirt.  Usually it falls right on top of me!

Hopefully, cleaning ceiling fans and those hard to reach cobwebs out of the corners will be easier with this cleaning tool.  The secret to getting something clean is using the right cleaning supplies.

It reminds me of how there is is only one way to remove the stain of sin in our lives. It all has to do with using the right cleaning supply.
Isaiah 1:18 Come now, let us reason together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.

There have been many experiences and choices in my life that have left me feeling stained. Some were of my own doing and others were done to me! When I reflect on these stains, I still struggle to believe that God will remove it completely. Sometimes these stains have kept me captive to relive the shame of my mistakes.

This verse in Isaiah is such a blessing to me. Praise Jesus that He not only sees the sin, but He forgives the sin and then cleanses it and removes it forever!

Whoever the son has set free is free indeed! John 8:36

Time to Let Jesus Get out His broom!

Guest Blog; Surrendered to the broom

I am employed at an apartment complex in Orange County, my title is "resident services". In a nut shell, I oversee about 800 residents and ensure that they feel valued and taken care of on a daily basis, which I can assure you is not any easy task. I work in the leasing office and even have my own fancy desk and executive leather chair.

Last week I was sitting at my desk responding to emails when my co-worker came up behind me and yelled
"Don't move and whatever you do, don't look down!"
I instantly froze, lifting my feet up off the ground and stretching my arms out in front of me. It reminded me of playing games with my sister, Jeni, as a kid and she would tell me if I didn't freeze every limb on my body, I would fall into hot lava and die! In this instance, the wood floor beneath me was hot lava, and my fancy leather chair was the only thing stopping me from it!

My co-worker rolled me back in my chair to uncover and giant roach crawling underneath me! I unfroze and jumped out of my chair as fast as I could! I was screeching, as all grown women do when they see icky pests running around, I'm sure. My co-worker quickly grabbed a broom and began sweeping the roach towards the front door. The roach starting out fighting, trying to run away from the broom, but he kept getting knocked down by the bristles of the broom. Finally the roach just stopped and rolled over. He just gave up, surrendered to the broom.

I thought about how often I put up a fight with God and try to run away and do what I think is best for my life. Ultimately I always end up rolling over giving Him full reign to do what he wants with me and my life. Just like the roach did with the broom.

How often do we run from the broom? Fighting with everything we've got to get away and do our own thing, until we roll over and surrender?

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn,
if I settle on the far side of the sea,
even there your hand will guide me,
your right hand will hold me fast.  Psalm 139:7-10
