A friend gave us fresh green beans from her garden. "Yummy, yummy", I thought. When I opened the bag I realized that she had given us 2 different kinds of beans. One bag of regular green and one bag of "purple". I have never had purple, green beans. Is that what you call them? Let's just say that they are beans and they are purple. I decide to try the purple ones and prepare them by snapping off the ends and then boiling them.
An amazing thing happened to them in the boiling water! All of the purple went away and they were now green! I couldn't believe my eyes! In an instant they were changed!

This reminded me that God uses those "hot" refining moments to change us.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17
Today when you are experience a boiling moment, allow Jesus to change you!
The second things that these beans brought to mind is that Jesus is coming back in a twinkling of an eye.
in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.
I Corinthians 15:52
This promise is true!
Father, thank you for reminding me of the beans, and that you want to change us by using the difficult moments, Use those moments to refine and grow us today. Thank you for preparing eternity for us. Jann
thanks for this thought, jann.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love how God can use the simplest of things, like a green bean, to remind us of His grace? Blessings!
