I Believe-Merry Christmas

I see this word everywhere! 

Believe. 

It is thrown around as if there is something magical about the word itself.  

I understand the intention.  

We were made to believe.  

We were created to trust in something, someone grander than ourselves. 

Peter was asked who he believed Jesus was. Mark 8:29

The disciples believed that Jesus was the one. John 6:69 

The crowds believed many things about Jesus Luke 9:18-19

They thought He could be;

John the Baptist 

Elijah 

One of the prophets come back to life.

What do you believe? Who is Jesus to you?

If you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be put to shame.”For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” Romans 10:9-13
