"Do you know what makes Woody special? He will never give up on you!", Declares Andy as he gives away his treasured toys.
People told me that they had cried during this movie and I thought they were silly! Yes I cried. At that moment when I made the connection between Woody and Jesus it all made sense to me!
We all long for someone to believe in us.
To stay with us!
To see us through!
Jesus is Immanuel,"God with us".
Jesus has promised to be with us!
I will never leave you or forsake you! Hebrews 13:5
I will always be with you. Matthew 28:20
I will send you another counselor. John 14:16
Do you know what make Jesus so special?
He is with us and He will never give up on you!
Father, I needed to be reminded of your deep love for me today! Thank you for using a movie to speak the tender words, "I am with you!
amen, indeed Jesus will never give up on us! thanks for sharing. yup, i did cry too.
ReplyDeleteIt is comforting to know he is always with us...that he will never leave or forsake us. We just have to believe and draw on that.
ReplyDeleteI love the thought of Him so near all the time!
ReplyDeleteAndy's sweet good-bye moment with his beloved toys made me think of all the letting go we do in life and how the Lord is the One who never leaves us. So, yes, I cried, too!
ReplyDeleteOh wow...even if we know it already, isn't it always good to be reminded? Visiting by way of A Pause on the Path today...
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas!
Great reminder, Jann. When my husband asked for a divorce in 2004, I felt like he was giving up on me. But God did not and will not give up on me. In fact, in the past seven years, He's been working on me--patiently working--and in the past two years has brought me the prince He had for me all along. I can't wait to see what else He has in my future.
ReplyDeleteBlessings, dear sister.

P.S. - Like the new look of the blog. :)
I so agree! I often find a Jesus connection in the stories/movies I watch. Even if it is unintended, if I can make that leap or connection, chances are I will somewhat like the movie. If not well...that's another STORY!
