Jesus answered her, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water. John 4:10
Jesus comes to earth in human form as a baby. We read about him as a babe lying in a manger. An Angel foretold His birth to Mary and the angels declared that the newborn king has arrived.
Wouldn't you love to see the footage of Jesus as a baby? Did he do all of the baby things? cooing, spitting up, diaper changes? Was He a normal inquisitive child who asked why, why, why? Was He fully child and fully God with full knowledge and understanding of heavenly things? Or did God protect him from these things until He was a little older?
The first time we see any part of Him as a child was when His parents, Mary and Joseph took him to the temple in Luke 2:41-52
I wonder if He knew what was to come? Did He sing praises to God? This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine.... Did He explore the gifts of healing that he had? Did He realize that He was the gift that the world would celebrate?
This I do know, He was a GIFT! It was because of Him that we give gifts at Christmas. He was the ultimate gift giver. He himself was and is the GIFT.
As you give gifts this season, remember that He is the gift and think about all that He has given to us.

redemption
peace
joy
gentleness
patience
victory
power
authority
Holy Spirit
guidance
conviction
the gift of His presence
comfort
leading
relationship with the Creator
access to the throne
an audience with the king
taking our shame
putting the sin on himself
Prayer
Jesus thank you for being the ultimate gift. May every gift we give bring glory to you name. You are the gift that no one wants to return. You have been a gift of great joy. Show us how to give gifts in your name.
