Prepare my mind to Wrestle

Day 10

prepare 10
We lost another friend to cancer, what a terrible, terrible disease. Julie Klooster was an amazing woman. She loved the Lord and loved life. I remember her gift of prayer and how it touched so many including myself. There was a time where she would stand in the back when I was giving a message praying for me. She would say that it was her gift and she wanted to use it .Standing there praying for me and praying for the women who were in attendance. I can’t tell you the amazing power that was felt when this woman of god prayed. I mourn for her loss. My mind is wrestling with the goodness of God to take her home and be with him. I know she is having a great time but also I am wrestling with the sorrow of not having her around, not seeing her smiling face, not seeing her warm eyes, her infectious laugh and her special touches. I wrestle because I don’t completely understand God’s ways. I’m going to be honest it’s difficult! Death is difficult.
Preparing my mind to wrestle means knowing the truth and coming to terms with things that I don’t completely understand. Preparing my mind to wrestle is knowing who I am in Christ and knowing who God is! Preparing my mind to wrestle means confidence in God’s promises even when I have questions.
Are you wrestling today? Do you have questions, doubts, frustrations? God knows us and expects us to come to Him with any concerns that we have.
Prepare your mind to wrestle being fully confident of where your hope is found and fully confident that it’s okay to ask questions.
My Hope is Built on Nothing Less
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874
My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’ name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When darkness veils His lovely face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
His oath, His covenant, and blood
Support me in the whelming flood;
When every earthly prop gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found,
Clothed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne!
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Amen
