Day 8
The brain is a funny thing. God created it to organize our thoughts, control the more than 100 billion neurons, 600 skeletal muscles, 640,000 sense receptors, and regulate the blood flow through the heart to over 50,000 miles of veins! Then of course there is the intellect, emotional and memory part of the brain.
Our minds are flooded every day with messages, good and bad that effect our thinking. A mental snapshot is taken with the media that we see, experiences that we are involved in words that are exchanged. All of these take palace in our memories. Good or bad they take residence within our minds.
Today I am asking the Lord to restore my mind so that I would be prepared to serve Him better. Restoring it from negative to positive, hurtful memories to His victories, Painful words to words of encouragement.
Restore-To restore to its former state.
When we go before God and hold our lives before Him, He can restore us.
Then he said to the man, “Stretch out your hand.” And the man stretched it out, and it was restored, healthy like the other. Matthew 12:13
Ask God for what you desire, He will restore you.
You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again. Psalm 71:20
Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Psalm 1:10
Prayer
Lord, restore my mind to the mind of Christ. Transform it from the old way of thinking to one that is focussed on Heavenly things. Remove what ever hinders me from fully following you.
