Do what God wants you to do!

I recently heard about this remarkable woman. Mama Maggie Gobran. A current day mother Teresa working outside of Cairo, Egypt in Mokattam. Her ministry is focused on the orphaned, sick and poor children that are working in Cairo's dump. Her mission of love to children is being carried out through the efforts of Stephen's Children.


How did an educated, upper class woman find herself working with the poorest of the poor in Egypt? 

"One day I heard God’s voice. He told me I want to upgrade you. You are teaching these students, I want you to go to other kind of students. I want you to go and teach and learn from the poorest of the poor: the children. What did I find there that He wanted to upgrade me? I found God himself waiting for me."  To read more

Often we ask, "Will God really speak to me?" I believe that the question we should ask instead is, "Will I do what God tells me to do?"

God speaks to us every day through;

His word - The Bible

The Holy Spirit-  Whispering to us

His incredible creation- Nature

His people

Pain

Joy

How is God speaking to you? 

What is He saying?

To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.              1 Samuel 15:22 

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion. Hebrews 3:15

When you hear Him;

• Asking you to forgive, will you?
• Directing you to be kind to someone you don't know, will you?
• Giving you the words to say, will you speak them?

Will you do what He tells you to do? 

Father, I am guilty of ignoring your directions.  I ask that you forgive my rebellious ways. Help me to understand and recognize your voice and then to follow you. Jann
