This is what Jesus did for us!
For Christ also suffered once for sins,
the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring
you to God. I Peter 3:18
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and
death. Romans 8:1-2
He cancelled
the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the
cross. Colossians 2:14
This is so good!
He cancelled -blotted out -
wiped away the charges against us!
Nailing it
to His cross.
Wiped out-means
to erase, obliterate.
God wipes out the list of charges against us.
God not only forgives our sin but he blots out the
record of it. Not only is the handwriting erased but the document itself is
removed.
The use of "handwriting refers to an IOU.
As if you sat down and made a list of all of your sins.
Jesus comes and clears is all away!
If God wiped out the charges against you, Why do you
keep dwelling on them? He says that He has forgotten them!
There's more!
Picture with
me- Jesus Hanging on the cross-The sign hanging above Him, tells of His crime-(King of the Jews)
2. When the crimes were paid for, the sign was stamped
with the word "tetelestai", meaning paid in full,
it is finished.
When the full debt for our
sin was paid, Jesus simply gave up
His spirit with a single word that fell from His lips: “Tetelestai"
“It is finished.”
The debt was
cancelled.
(Colossians 2:13-14)
Here is the truth of who you are!
You are loved and forgiven!
You are sons and daughters of the King! When God looks at you He sees Jesus!
The price has been paid!
Live in this truth!
Beautiful! What a wonderful way to go into the weekend thinking!
