The first stone (or the cornerstone) is the foundation because it is the stone that all other stones will be set on.
Think about what this stone does!
It sets the
The stone had to be accurate and true (level) so that all the other stones could be set from it. If this was not true then there was a possibility that the walls of the building could lean and fall over.
The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; Psalm 118:22
So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it Isaiah 28:16
Jesus is our Cornerstone. Everything in our lives when built upon Him will be secure, strong and level. He has to be the Messiah, God's son or nothing could be built on Him.

What does that mean? We need to measure our values, decisions and actions on His teachings. We must determine if we are resting upon His strength.
“Jesus is the stone that was rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:11-12

Jesus our cornerstone, thank you for establishing a firm foundation that we can rest upon. I need you to hold me together, set me straight and give me strength. I praise you for holding us together. You are before us an through you you hold us together!
