For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace (Isaiah 9:6).
I Kings 7:51, Nehemiah 6:18
In an instant things can turn
From everyday occurrences to chaotic
From a normal conversation to one filled with conflict
From normal to painful
From easy breezy to uptight
I crave peace
I didn't have much arguing in the family that I grew up in. I realized that now it causes anxiety in me when people argue. I don't like to hear it! I am not a fan of shows like Judge Judy, or talk shows that showcase squabbles between family members. I can't listen to it. It creates uneasiness within my very soul.
I crave peace
Expectations can do that for me as well. Especially during the holidays, I have created an expectation list for the holidays. How the house will look, what food I will prepare and the gifts that I will give. Right now I have high expectations for the caramel apples that I am making, will people enjoy them? it creates a little bit of panic inside of me!
I crave peace
Jesus comes and says, "I am the Prince of Peace".
Prayer
Thank you Jesus, our Prince of Peace who gives it so freely and lavishes it upon us who believe in your name. We ask that you would give us peace this day that exceeds anything that we can understand. Help us to fully trust that you have everything under control! Guard our hearts and minds as we live in Jesus. We praise you, knowing that you are our God and that you love us. Thank you for this precious, precious gift.
It also signifies a sense of well-being and harmony both within and without - Completeness, wholeness, peace, health, welfare, safety, soundness, tranquility, prosperity, fullness, rest, harmony; the absence of agitation or discord, a state of calm without anxiety or stress.
Wouldn't it be nice if our lives were full of this kind of peace?

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
He is the Peace giver, the Peace provider, the Peace protector, He is our Peace. Dividing down the wall of hostility. What a beautiful picture!During this season as we reflect on who Jesus is and the gifts that He has given to us, I am thankful for the gift of peace.
